The Family Logo

TARO

famlogo41.jpg

" . . . Why Taro?  Taro is not only a staple of the Hawaiian diet, but symbolically represents the roots giving life to new shoots.  We share a common root, of which we are all offspring.

By looking at the logo, see not the plant itself, but the idea it represents.  The root gives birth to a heart shaped leaf - by love, it was created.  Green tender young leaves unfurl.  We must nurture it, our family, to protect its future.  It will thrive if our roots are firmly planted, and we care for one another."

(grandaughter of Dorothy Laie Navia <Gasper>)
